An Afternoon Paddle….

Water has always provided me solace. Evoking comfort from creeks, rivers, lakes and oceans permits my mind to clear – enables me to relax, reflect and meditate.

Paddle blades cutting water, an osprey soaring to a gnarled branch, waves lapping the kayak deck….for a while, I am at peace.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.

I am haunted by waters.

Vivaldi Theme – Relaxing Summer Evening

Check out my new Vivaldi Theme – Relaxing Summer Evening

On July 24, 2020, I visited the Lodge at Amicalola Falls State Park in Georgia, USA. The evening was spent on this patio and the temperature was cool enough to enjoy the fire.

Two interesting tidbits about Amicalola Falls State Park: the Appalachian Trail starts here (for northbound hikers) and it is home to the Hike Inn.
